The University of Michigan Class of 2026 celebrates Winter Commencement at Crisler Center. Doors for graduates and guests open at 12:30 p.m., and the ceremony begins at 2 p.m. Guests should be seated by 1:50 p.m., or by 1:15 p.m. to watch the graduate procession.
Speakers
Commencement speakers and honorary degree recipients will be announced closer to the ceremony. Check the Winter Commencement speakers page for updates.
Want to speak at commencement? Graduating students can apply to give brief remarks at the ceremony. Submissions should reflect your maize and blue experience and be no longer than 200 words (about two minutes read aloud). Applications are due Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Apply here.
Know before you go
Tickets are required for all graduates and guests. Bags of any kind are not allowed in Crisler Center. For tickets, permitted items, parking, and accessibility, visit the Winter Commencement website and the Crisler Center venue page.

Please note: Students graduating in Fall 2025 are eligible to participate in either the Winter Commencement Ceremony (December 2026) or the Spring Commencement Ceremony (May 2027).
Eligible students will automatically receive email communications regarding the Winter Commencement. If you intend to participate in the Spring Commencement, you may disregard those messages. Information about the Spring Commencement will automatically be sent to your UMICH email address next semester.
