The Role of Islamic International Organizations in the Realm of International Politics

Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Al-Twaijri, the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), a part of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, will present a public lecture on the topic of Islamic International Institutions.

ISESCO is an organ of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, an intergovernmental organization of 57 states designed as the collective voice of the Muslim world. Founded in 1982, and based in Rabat, Morocco, ISESCO is dedicated to the peace and development in the Islamic world and beyond through the means of education, science and culture. Its subsidiaries include the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, the Islamic Body on Ethics of Science and Technology, and the ISESCO Center for the Promotion of Scientific Research.

Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He holds a PhD in education from the University of Oregon, and taught at King Saud University. He was elected Director General of ISESCO in 1991.
