Dr. Michael D. Rosenthal joined Brookhaven National Laboratory in May 2007 as the Head of the Nonproliferation and Safeguards Division. Prior to that he served in the US Department of State and the US Arms Control and Disarmament Agency as a member of the Senior Executive Service.

He has an extensive background in nuclear nonproliferation and international security issues and broad experience with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, the International Atomic Energy Agency, international safeguards, and US Government and international programs aimed at reducing the risks of nuclear and other radioactive material and technology.
