Impact Investing for Sustainable Development

In this International Policy Center seminar, Rana Karadsheh will share insights from her work at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group’s arm for promoting private investment for development. She will discuss IFC’s approach to sustainable investing and the launch of its new sustainability principles. She will also address IFC’s new approach of “Maximizing Finance For Development” and how it fits within its investment strategy across Asia.

Rana Karadsheh is Country Manager for Singapore at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). She heads IFC’s operations in Singapore, which includes infrastructure investments, infrastructure advisory, agribusiness, and tech investments, among other public-private development initiatives. Her previous roles include leading the infrastructure investment team covering Singapore and the Philippines and leading IFC’s work investing in chemicals, petrochemicals and fertilizer in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. She has nearly two decades of experience as an international development practitioner. She holds an MBA and an MA in International Economics from The George Washington University and a BA in Economics and French from the University of Michigan.
