Jan Svejnar and Marina v.N. Whitman
Two Ford School faculty with deep expertise in economic policy were interviewed this semester in multimedia news releases produced by U-M News and Information Services.
Jan Svejnar, the runner-up in last year's presidential election in the Czech Republic, shared his insight about the financial health of Europe in an audio podcast called "Europe's economy plays large role in global crisis." Svejnar is the Everett E. Berg Professor of Business Administration, a professor of public policy, and professor of economics at U-M. He directs the Ford School's International Policy Center.
In a video segment, Marina v.N. Whitman, professor of public policy and business administration, described the balancing act that U.S. policymakers face as they attempt to generate short-term economic stimulus without endangering the economy's long-term stability. Whitman has had a distinguished career, serving in the highest ranks of industry, government, and higher education.
