Elisabeth Gerber is one of seven University of Michigan faculty involved with a new university collaboration design to help Great Lakes cities adapt to a changing climate. This three-year, $1.2 million project, called Great Lakes Adaptation Assessment for Cities, will bolster the science and decision-making processes necessary for proper urban climate adaptation.
"While there is abundant research on climate change at national and global scales, there is a gap in regionally focused adaptation planning for effectively addressing this pressing issue," co-principal investigator Arun Agrawal said in a press release. "The Great Lakes project is helping to fill this gap by providing the place-based information needed for developing and improving policy decisions and infrastructure investments."
