"Martian's Daughter" at Hungarian embassy in DC

November 14, 2012

Marina Whitman spoke with Bloomberg News at a book signing in Washington, DC hosted by long-time friends John and Debbie Dingell, Alan Greenspan, and Andrea Mitchell.

"It's hard for an academic to sound like a human being," Whitman said of writing her first memoir. The book, which is named after her late father, the acclaimed mathematician John von Neumann, nicknamed "the martian," is an account of Whitman's personal and professional achievements at General Motors Co. and on the president's Council of Economic Advisers.

The event was attended by several high-profile political figures, including Acting Commerce Secretary Rebecca Blank and former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan.
