Susan M. Dynarski and Brian A. Jacob, as part of a National Bureau of Economic Research team, received a three-year, $1.6 million grant from the Institute of Education Sciences to study charter schools.
The project will examine why some charter schools are more effective than others, using empirical evidence from Massachusetts, Michigan, and Texas. As explained in the project description, the results of this study are intended to contribute to the body of literature available to policymakers when developing or refining charter school initiatives.
