October 18, 2012

Trey Williams was honored with a 2012 University of Michigan Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award (DDLA) by the Office of the Provost and University Human Resources.

"Diversity is a thread woven into the tapestry of the university," said Anthony Walesby, associate vice provost and director of the Office of Institutional Equity, at the breakfast awards ceremony. "The staff members we honor as Distinguished Diversity Leaders strive to make our university community a place of inclusion. Their efforts strengthen the university for all, and for that we are grateful."

The DDLA was established in 2008 as a way to recognize those staff members who work toward achieving a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive working environment. As explained by University Human Resources, the award is intended to celebrate those who embrace the value of diversity and recognize how it helps set the University apart.
