The 2013 Ford School Charity Auction will take place on April 6 at the Kensington Court Hotel in Ann Arbor. The theme for this year's fundraiser is "The Roaring 20s" and will involve a jazz-era gala. The beneficiary of the event will be Detroit Action Commonwealth, a nonprofit in southeast Michigan which supports homeless communities in Detroit.
The annual charity auction is a student-led endeavor designed to support the work of a nonprofit organization. In 2012, the charity auction successfully raised $12,000 for the Detroit-based nonprofit Alternatives for Girls.
The gala will raise funds through a silent and live auction of donated gifts. The Charity Auction Committee is accepting donations until March 30 through its online form.
