The Distinguished Faculty Committee of the University of Michigan's School of Social Work has unanimously selected Sandra Danziger as the recipient of the school's 2013 Distinguished Faculty Award.
As described by the U-M Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, the annual award recognizes faculty members in the School of Social Work who have achieved national recognition in scholarship and service, demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring, provided outstanding service to the School and the University, and contributed significantly to the professional community. As the recipient of the award, Danziger will chair the Distinguished Faculty Committee for next year's selection.
Danziger is director of the Michigan Program on Poverty and Social Welfare Policy at the Ford School. Her research interests include social service programs, policies affecting disadvantaged families, and demographic trends in child and family wellbeing.
