Ford School launches alumni-in-residence program

October 9, 2013

Graduate Career Services and Alumni Relations have launched an alumni-in-residence program where graduates spend a half-day at the Ford School providing professional development support for students through resume reviews, mock interviews, career conversations, and/or office hours.

On October 4, Francisco Sanchez (MPP '88) returned to the Ford School as part of the new program. Sanchez currently works as a business manager in Ford Motor Company's Product Development division. Previously, he has worked with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Bolivian government to create a congressional budget office in Bolivia and has also served as an analyst in Michigan state government. While back for the day, Sanchez gave a career conversation about the flexibility of the MPP degree and held individual office hours for current students.

Many thanks to the following alumni who have already served and will serve as alumni-in-residence this fall:

  • Ashley Brown (PhD '12), McKinsey & Company
  • Nick Greifer (MPP '89), Kane, McKenna, and Associates
  • Alex Nosnik (MPA '10), John Snow, Inc.
  • Steve Shea (MPP '85), California State Senate, Office of the President Pro Tem
  • Ian Swedish (MPP/MBA '10), CCS Consulting
