Neel Hajra, who regularly teaches “Policy and Management in the Nonprofit Sector” at the Ford School, has been named the next president and chief executive officer of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation. He will begin his new post on January 1, 2015.
Hajra has been with the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation since 2011, when he was hired to serve as chief operating officer and vice president for community investment. In this role, he’s overseen all aspects of operations, including managing the fund’s $77 million in assets and distributing hundreds of grants to local organizations. He has also helped to develop a number of new initiatives designed to strengthen the regional social safety net and spur economic growth through cultural programming.
Neel Hajra is the recipient of the Aspen Institute Fellowship for Emerging Nonprofit Leaders and the American Express Next Gen Fellowship.
