The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Fellowship, an endowed fund honoring the legacy of University of Michigan alumnus and United States President Gerald R. Ford (BA ’35), is featured on the inside cover of the November edition of Michigan Alumnus, a magazine sent quarterly to 100,000 University of Michigan Alumni Association members.
The goal of the Ford Presidential Fellowship Fund? To inspire the next century of citizens, public servants, and leaders—public policy alumni who will go on to serve the interests of our state and nation by analyzing issues creatively and objectively, identifying actionable policy solutions, and building bipartisan consensus.
The Meijer Foundation has generously offered to match, dollar-for-dollar, the first $1 million in gifts to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Fellowship Fund. All told, the Ford School seeks to raise $3 million to permanently endow two full graduate fellowships for exceptional Ford School applicants who will:
- Exemplify President Ford’s commitment to bipartisan cooperation and civility,
- Be deeply and positively engaged in community service, and
- Intend to pursue a lifelong career in the public sector.
