WEMU highlights university’s push for students to register to vote

October 5, 2018

Younger voters are showing an interest in the upcoming midterm election, reports Jorge Avellan for WEMU in an October 4, 2018 news story “November General Election 2018: Exploring The Potential Impact Of The Youth Vote In Washtenaw County.”

Only 14 percent of students at the University of Michigan voted in the last midterm election, according to the Ford School of Public Policy. This year, the Edward Ginsberg Center—with partnership and support from the Ford School—is seeking to change that through the Big Ten Voter Challenge.

U-M is among many Michigan universities and high schools where students are expressing a commitment to vote on November 6, and registering to do so by the October 9 deadline.
