The American Society of Health Economists (ASHE) awarded Amanda Kowalski as this year’s ASHEcon Medal recipient. The ASHEcon Medal is “awarded to an economist age 40 or under who has made the most significant contributions to the field of health economics.”
Amanda Kowalski, the Gail Wilensky Professor of Economics and Public Policy, holds a primary appointment in the Department of Economics along with a courtesy appointment at the Ford School. Her research focuses on health policy debates, using theoretical models and econometric techniques to answer relevant questions. Her most recent work analyzes how clinical trials are conducted to design policies aimed at insurance expansion and expansions and medical treatments for people who will benefit from them the most.
