"In the end, there is no bigger conflict in me than how to interpret my status as an American. I live in a nation that declares itself the greatest to others but takes no responsibility for the centuries of racial turmoil minorities have navigated every day since this nation's genocidal establishment. How are we to make sense of the tenuous dialectic that begs people of color to ponder every day: How do I feel about my country, and how does my country feel about me?"
