Haverkamp discusses WTO's role in fighting climate change

The World Trade Organization's role in climate change has been a topic of discussion lately. With authority over supply chains and fossil fuel subsidies, many say it could be key in the fight against climate change, even with its mixed track record. 

"Folks who follow the WTO know that we've had a 20-year negotiation on trying to discipline harmful fisheries subsidies," Jennifer Haverkamp, professor of practice, said regarding a trade stand-off threatening the world's fish stocks.
