A new analysis released by Poverty Solutions paints a grim picture about homeless students in Detroit. It shows that they are more likely to miss school on a regular basis, less likely to graduate, suspended or expelled at higher rates than other students, and also significantly undercounted by district and charter schools in Detroit. keeping them from accessing a vast pool of resources meant to help them succeed.

Jennifer Erb-Downward, one of the study's authors, told the Detroit Free Press, "We really need to be thinking about how we create a system where people are aware of housing instability and its impact on kids."
