As the news that police raided the home of a man tied to a forged signature gathering ring at the center of Michigan's Republican gubernatorial candidate pool, Ford School lecturer Jonathan Hanson noted that criminal prosecution was possible for all of the people involved in the scheme.
In addition to the managers, the three dozen signature gatherers also may face prosecution.
“I would not be surprised to see some criminal prosecutions arise from what happened," Hanson said. "It was clearly illegal and intentional, and really they’re messing with our system of elections.”
