The Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission recently released the newly-drawn district maps. Democrats are liking what they see, predicting the maps give them the best chance in decades to win a majority in the state Senate.
"It's a good thing that they made them more competitive," Joe Schwarz, Lecturer in Public Policy said. "I think that will bring more qualified candidates out there ... whose first loyalty is to good government and the state and whose first loyalty isn't to the party."
