Javed Ali, Ford School professor and and national security expert discussed the breakdown that led to the shooting of Donald Trump and the next steps for the Secret Service. He said the Secret Service was "operating under the assumption that, you know, the state and the local law enforcement had the primary mission for maintaining that outer security perimeter. And that is clearly where the breakdown happened: that handoff between the Secret Service, state and local law enforcement, and the communication."
