Betsey Stevenson, Ford School professor and economists, gave one extreme example of how tariffs could increase makeup prices, “if you knew we would never be able to import Chanel lipstick into the U.S again, the price would go up immediately because people will realize they should buy it before it’s gone.” She also talked possible changes in formula for beauty products and likely increases in long term price.
