As violence ensues in Haiti, Page is apprehensive about stabilization efforts

The New York Times reporting on the recent uptake of violence in Haiti has turned to Ford School's Susan Page for insights on the situation. Brutality from armed groups and political instability have perpetuated the country for the past year and the recent U.S. presidential election raises concerns about efforts to stabilize Haiti. Page responded"I am at a complete loss... Everyone is just kind of astounded."

Page was the first U.S. ambassador to the Republic of South Sudan and served as Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti.
