Why extremism is so difficult to detect in America - Ali

With the recent arrest of Luigi Mangione in Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette has turned to the Ford School's Javed Ali for insights on extremism in the state. Ali told the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette that combatting extremist attacks in the U.S. is "so so hard, because there are very few tools the FBI can use." He commented "You really have to get lucky sometimes in sort of catching people when they make that transition from being radicalized to then being mobilized... It’s plausible that Mr. Mangione’s fame will inspire similar attack."
