Ford School professor, Justin Wolfers, explained the benefits of the phase in period for the raised Michigan minimum wage, saying that this period is "so businesses have a long time to adapt.” Wolfers also said, “perhaps businesses have a bit of extra fat that they could share,” and that raising the minimum wage would make some of that revenue go to workers.
