Dear friends,
As we close another academic year, it's a good time to reflect on our shared experiences and celebrate the strength of our community. Last month, we joyously celebrated our graduates at Hill Auditorium—a day filled with optimism and pride. If you couldn’t join us or would like to relive those moments, the full Commencement Ceremony video is available here.
In my commencement address, I highlighted the Ford School’s enduring commitment to nurturing international connections. This dedication to fostering a community enriched by diverse global perspectives is as vital as ever. While we continue to navigate the uncertainties in higher education, these connections remain a crucial source of strength and inspiration.
I also recently had the opportunity to attend the Mackinac Policy Conference. It was a wonderful way to connect with Fordies who are doing amazing work in state and local government here in Michigan and to think together about the state’s future.
This summer, we will celebrate our globally connected community and honor Gerald Ford’s birthday during Worldwide Ford School Spirit Day. On July 9, our Career Services team will host an engaging series of virtual panels for students and alumni featuring Fordies from different areas of the world. Then, on July 10, join us for in-person Worldwide Ford School Spirit Day events in Ann Arbor, Chicago, DC, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York City, and Philadelphia. Whether you’re reconnecting with old classmates or forming new friendships, these gatherings are a wonderful way to celebrate our global Fordie community.
I invite you to stay connected with your fellow Fordies this summer in other ways as well. Our community’s relationships are among our greatest strengths. Visit our updated Alumni Resource webpage for ways to stay involved.
Wishing you a restful and productive summer.
Warmly,

Celeste Watkins-Hayes
