With the recent attacks in New Orleans, news outlets such as WILX have turned to the Ford School's Javed Ali for counsel on counterterrorism in the U.S. Ali shared that law enforcement is often relying on citizens to remain aware "In the aftermath of every one of these homegrown attacks what usually comes out is that people around the perpetrator of the attack say, ‘you know, something was off but in hindsight, I didn’t know what to make of it.'"
