Ambassador Kamissa Camara participated as a panelist in "America's Evolving Relationship with the U.N." at the 11th America's Role in the World Conference, held at the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies in Bloomington, Indiana.
The discussion, moderated by Interim Dean David Bosco, featured Camara alongside Ambassador Feisal Istrabadi and Brett Schaefer. Panelists examined the often-fractious relationship between the United States and the United Nations, with particular attention to recent U.S. withdrawals and funding cuts affecting U.N. operations, including humanitarian aid and peacekeeping.
The conversation explored how shifting U.S. policy may reshape the United Nations and broader multilateral institutions in the years ahead, as well as the implications for global cooperation, crisis response, and international governance.
