In complement to the University Musical Society's performance of "Every Brilliant Thing," the Ford School will host a panel of university and local mental health policy experts moderated by Paula Lantz, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Professor of Public Policy.
This series will use CRT to foster a dialogue on important issues of U.S. public policy ranging from activism to the gentrification of physical spaces to inequalities in health and health care.
The Ford+SPPG Conference is an annual student-led policy conference among students at the School of Public Policy and Governance (SPPG) at the University of Toronto and the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. It’s a great opportunity to further your understanding of multi-stakeholder and cross-border policy collaboration and implementation – and have fun in the process! At the conclusion of the weekend, a panel of faculty judges will select the best proposal.

With refugee crises and related humanitarian issues at the center of so many national and global conversations, join us for the 2017 Josh Rosenthal Education Fund Lecture with Dr. Nadina Christopoulou to learn how one network created a sanctuary for migrant and refugee women and their children.
The 2020 Tanner Lecture will be given by prominent philosopher Charles Mills. The lecture will look at racial justice from a philosophical point of view: whether it’s worth singling out, how it’s demarcated from other kinds of justice, what are its different dimensions, the relation between distributive and corrective justice, which normative framework to employ, etc.
Through money bail systems, fees and fines, strictly enforced laws and regulations against behavior including trespassing and public urination that largely affect the homeless, and the substitution of prisons and jails for the mental hospitals that have traditionally served the impoverished, in one of the richest countries on Earth we have effectively made it a crime to be poor.
