Katherine Richard is a PhD Candidate in Economics and Public Policy at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She employs applied econometric techniques to understand how low income households make ends meet over short time horizons. Her prior joint work explores effects of unanticipated delays to transfer income and effects of unconditional cash transfers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In current projects, she studies the role of work requirement enforcement and multiple benefit issuance timing on access to resources for low income families. Her work is funded with support from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy. Katherine will be on the economics and public policy job market in 2024-2025.
