The Weiser Diplomacy Center is excited to welcome Mark R Jacobson for an Open House & Career Discussion with students. With over two decades of experience in academia and public service, Mark R Jacobson has recently served as the assistant dean at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. His academic journey includes positions at Amherst College and Georgetown University. In the realm of public service, Jacobson has contributed to NATO, the Senate Committee on Armed Services, and held various roles at the Department of Defense. A dedicated public servant, he is a veteran of both the Army and Navy Reserves, having been mobilized to active duty in Bosnia and Afghanistan. Trained as a historian, Jacobson earned degrees from the University of Michigan, King's College - University of London, and The Ohio State University, where he obtained his Ph.D. in military history. Mark is currently the Vice President of Research, Evaluation, and Modernizing Government at the Partnership for Public Service.
