What's at Stake in the Torture Debate?

Susan Waltz is a Professor of Public Policy. She is a specialist in human rights and international affairs. Susan is the author of Human Rights and Reform: Changing the Face of North African Politics (1995), and she has recently published a series of articles on the historical origins of international human rights instruments and the political processes that produced them. From 1993-1999 she served on Amnesty International's International Executive Committee and since 2000 has served on the national board of the American Friends Service Committee. She convenes a working group on military transfers for Amnesty International-USA and she has been involved with international efforts to promote an Arms Trade Treaty regulating the small arms trade. Susan received her Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Denver.
