The Causal Inference in Education Research Seminar (CIERS) is an interdisciplinary research seminar for quantitative research in education with an emphasis on causal inference. We welcome and encourage presentations on works-in-progress from students, post-docs, and faculty across all disciplines. Past presenters have come from departments such as economics, education, sociology, psychology, public policy, information, and more. CIERS is a great venue for researchers to receive feedback from attendees with a broad range of expertise.
Our regular meeting schedule is Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 10 am in Weill 3240 (3rd floor conference room). We provide coffee and breakfast to all attendees. Check out our website to learn more and to sign up for the mailing list!
The first meeting of the 2017-2018 academic year will take place September 6th. In this first session, we will provide an introduction to CIERS, dedicate some time for open discussion of research ideas, as well as share information about the the University of Michigan's Predoctoral Training Program in Causal Inference in Education Policy Research. Key benefits of this program are:
