Detroit Free Press columnist interviews Marina v.N. Whitman, looks forward to her autobiography

In a recent interview, Detroit Free Press columnist Tom Walsh talked with Marina v.N. Whitman about her forthcoming memoir.

Whitman, daughter of John von Neumann, a pioneering mathematician of the 20th century, earned her PhD in 1962 from Columbia University. In 1972, Richard Nixon selected her as the first woman to sit on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers and in 1979 she became the first female vice president of General Motors. She has served as director of leading multinational corporations, received numerous awards and fellowships, and holds honorary degrees from over twenty colleges and universities.
