Congratulations to economist Sharon Maccini, who becomes the new director of the Ford School's undergraduate degree program in public policy on July 15. Maccini follows predecessor Edie Goldenberg after two significant years of leadership.
In her capacity as director of the BA program, Maccini will helm one of the U-M's premier undergraduate degrees and build on the foundation of leadership established by Goldenberg, who increased resources for student fellowships and internship support and championed a more diverse applicant pool for the program.
Maccini is a distinguished health economist whose research interests include the econometric evaluation of public health policies in developing countries. In addition to teaching graduate courses in public health and finance, she has taught microeconomics to undergraduates for several years as well as a Ford School seminar on social welfare policy.
