Greg Robb, a senior economic reporter for MarketWatch, quotes Susan Collins in his October 23 piece, “In the battle for the U.S. Senate, the ‘E-word’ is largely ignored.”
“I’ve got to say that it hasn’t been a great political season for good ideas about economics,” Ford School Dean Susan M. Collins tells Robb.
“This year’s battle between Republicans and Democrats for control of the Senate has not exactly been a wellspring of new ideas for how to solve the country’s economic problems,” Robb writes.
Robb interviews a number of political science scholars for the piece—all commenting on the weak economic discourse taking place between Senate contenders in their states.
