Remember Giving Tuesday? The day of giving following Black Friday and Cyber Monday? This Giving Tuesday, the University of Michigan hosted its own day of giving: Giving Blueday.
In a 24-hour period, 87 Ford School supporters made 101 gifts, creating the largest single-day online fundraising effort in the school’s history. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends took advantage of a number of matching gift opportunities, as well, raising a total of $26,675. And students in the International Economic Development Program won several social media challenges offered by the university, raising nearly $1,300 for their upcoming trip to Brazil.
Every Giving Blueday contribution to the Ford School will help students finance their studies, and help them make the most of their time at the university. These gifts will provide scholarships and help to support enriching educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom.
The University of Michigan’s Giving Blueday campaign raised a combined total of $3.2 million from more than 5,000 donors.
