The Ford School’s Kathryn Dominguez, an economics professor, was named to the Advisory Scientific Committee (ASC) of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB), which oversees financial systems of the European Union to mitigate and prevent systemic risks. Serving a four-year term that begins in April 2019, Dominguez will join 14 fellow experts in research to inform the ESRB on macroprudential decisions.
The ASC meets quarterly in Frankfurt. In the past the group has called for credible bank resolution and a European capital markets union. The committee also manages the ESRB Working Paper Series and awards the annual Ieke van den Burg Research Prize for young economists.
