If you oversee a campus unit willing and capable of employing teenagers and young adults this summer, Poverty Solutions invites you to consider submitting part-time job placements as part of the University of Michigan’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
During the program’s launch in the summer of 2017, 41 youth were successfully placed in jobs across Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus and 39 youth in positions throughout Washtenaw County. The program intends to double the number of opportunities for young people this upcoming summer. Units are responsible for providing paid employment and mentorship for youth in a part-time capacity for 10 weeks over the summer.
Interested employers are invited to attend one of three informational sessions scheduled for this week (all sessions begin at 9:30 a.m.):
Tuesday, January 23: Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy (Conference Room 3420)
Thursday, January 25: A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning (Conference Room 2227)
Friday, January 26: Wolverine Tower (Conference Room G250)
Please RSVP to [email protected] if you plan to attend. Visit the Poverty Solutions website to learn more about their work and the Summer Youth Employment Program.
