
"What really matters is how long the recession lasts... I think there is already some damage to young people that is going to take them a decade to reverse," said Ford School economist Betsey Stevenson. "So, I think of that already as some permanent scarring. Can it get worse? Absolutely, and the longer it [the recession] goes on, the worse it will get."
