Theary Seng, a human rights lawyer, has been charged with treason in Cambodia for attempting to build a democratic system and defending human rights.
“Theary has been a courageous champion for democracy and social justice in Cambodia for many years,” John Cioriari told The New York Times. “As government crackdowns have squeezed out space for democratic political dissent, she has stood bravely against authoritarianism.”
