With the delta variant on the rise, educators are worried about getting kindergartners in the classroom yet again. Christina Weiland, associate professor of education, explained why kindergarten enrollment shrunk last year, and the variant might make that a two-year trend.
“For a lot of parents, it’s sort of been a time of ‘no good choices,’” Weiland said. “I think the delta variant is going to make some folks worry, particularly if their district doesn’t follow the safety precautions that some folks are advising.”
