Serving as a panelist at a recent Environmental Defense Fund webinar, Catherine Hausman discussed how market designs can lead to clean energy outcomes.
“In a world without the ideal carbon emissions regulation that we might hope for, we need to be careful about the unintended consequences of our policies, especially around things like new technologies or changes to electricity markets,” Hausman, associate professor of public policy, said.
She discussed the importance of policymakers and researchers partnering to create better outcomes.
“The market is not just going to automatically take care of itself,” she said.
