Shaefer comments on Atlanta pilot basic income program

In Atlanta, a pilot basic income program is being rolled out. Luke Shaefer, Hermann and Amalie Kohn Professor of Social Justice and Social Policy, discussed his thoughts on basic income. 

"(Policymakers need to ask) would people be better off just if I gave them the money that I spent on this program than if I gave them this program?" Shaefer said. "We just had this historic moment when we took an approach like we hadn't been before that was incredibly successful. And then afterward, we went back to our old ways."
