Rabe argues voter economic concerns are shaping Harris's stance on climate policies

September 26, 2024

Recently, Ford School Barry Rabe was highlighted on E&E News and Politico for his insights on Kamala Harris's climate policies during her campaign. Rabe focused on some of the conflicts Harris would face running on a "green dream" campaign.

"Harris’ fracking reversal may have a sequel" Politico, September 19, 2024 - Rabe commented, “You have to put Harris in the context of who she’s running against... I also don’t know how far a presidential candidate would get running on a platform of a very specific plan to phase down or stop production of oil and gas in the United States.”

"Would Harris kill the green dream of banning drilling on public lands?" E&E News, September 19, 2024 - Arguing the high probability that Harris will maintain the focus on climate exhibited during Biden's presidency, Rabe also noted Harris would face "huge production of oil and gas in the United States and capacity for export.” He stated, “It’s really kind of hard to take that on."
