The Washington Post reviewed the Trump administration's recent acts to cut civil servant employees and terminate federal agency operations. Donald Moynihan, a professor at the Ford School, said “such a power would be too great in the hands of any president, but it is a constitutional threat when the White House is occupied by a felon who is using his presidency to amass power and engage in retribution. The people surrounding Trump are making confident assertions of power — to fire civil servants, to block appropriations, to shut down agencies — that are clearly illegal.”
