
The Ford School's Kenneth Lowande recently presented at the University of Oklahoma's annual Teach-In conference. There, Lowande was asked to comment on the power of the president and why Donald Trump has upheld a strategy of implementing countless executive orders in his first months as president. Lowande said "Like any politician, presidents are strategic actors who seek symbolic wins. They pursue executive actions, even when they know that these will fail, because doing so allows them to put on a compelling show for key constituencies.”
