Despite the growing interest in social and emotional learning (SEL) implementation in K-12 settings, few measures exist to assess teachers’ SEL practices. In this talk, we describe the interactive mixed-method approach we took in developing the Racial Equity-oriented Social and Emotional Learning (REQSEL) practices measure.
The session features the inaugural cohort of the ARC research and community impact fellows—U-M faculty members who are engaged in cutting-edge research and scholarship on racial inequality and justice and who use a variety of community-centered approaches to affect change in multiple systems and settings.
This community conversation further explores the principles and practices of academic responsibility and academic freedom, and how these are effectively exercised in a diverse, inclusive and equitable campus community. January, 2022.
