The fourth webinar of the North American colloquium will discuss new approaches to countering nationalist extremism in North America.

This panel discusses how nationalism and extremism pose mounting challenges around the world, including in North America.

Students will be able to participate in a Q&A in regards to Sasha Ingber's national security expertise that ranges from covering the collapse of Afghanistan to her efforts in the non-profit sector. 

A panel discussion on the future of Ukraine addressing the far reaching implications of reconstruction aid and development; legal status of the Crimean Peninsula; re-establishment of international frontiers; resettlement of refugee and IDP populations; demobilization of armed forces and militia; reconstruction aid and development and the prosecution of alleged war crimes. 

Terrorism is an inherently social phenomenon. While it is commonly assumed that terrorists kill and die for a cause, they are motivated and strengthened by social connections. This colloquium brings together researchers in this area to discuss terrorism's root causes in the interpersonal relationships between terrorists, competition between terrorist groups within societies, and strategic alliances between organizations.
